Lumenus by Timo Lejeune & Julius Oosting is a forty-meter-long interactive light construction. It tells a story about how individual parts can work together in synergy. Lumenus is an impressive spectacle of light-rods and steel-cables that keep each other in balance.
The structure is based on designer Buckminster Fuller’s idea of ‘tensegrity’, in which he wants to create maximum aesthetic value with a minimum of material.
In light art, this is expressed in a spatial sculpture with tubes that appear to float.
